Luxpop Inc. (“Luxpop”) understands that users value their privacy and anonymity.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

Luxpop does not rent, sell, or share personal information for with other people or nonaffiliated entities except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission.  Luxpop may use the information that we receive from you in the following ways:

(i) For the purposes for which you specifically provided the information. For example, if you request a new calculation and identify yourself, we may contact you to get clarifications about what you would like to see, without any guarantee that we will follow-up on your requests;

 (ii) To send notifications by email or other media about our new or existing services, special offers, or to otherwise contact you;

(iii) To enhance existing features or develop new features, products and services; and

(iv) To provide advertisers and other third parties with aggregate information about our user base and usage patterns

Luxpop may use information input onto the site for the following general purposes: to improve our services, conduct research, and customize advertising and content you may see.

Luxpop may automatically receive and store information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, input parameters, and the page you request.

If you make a request or ask a question and leave your name and/or contact information, Luxpop may display your query and/or some or all of the contact information on the site, unless you specifically state you do not want such information published.

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

Luxpop may share information with third parties in limited circumstances, including when complying with legal process, defending against legal claims, preventing fraud or imminent physical harm to any person, and ensuring the security of equipment and services.

Luxpop does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad. For example, if you click on a 980 nm ad, the advertiser may deduce that you use or may be interested in using 980 pumps.

Luxpop may present ad links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We use this information to improve the quality of our calculations, customized content and advertising. Similarly, Luxpop can use this information to determine how many times an advertisement is clicked in order to calculate how much the advertiser should be charged.

INFORMATION SECURITY

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to Luxpop staff who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Luxpop considers information about the nature of the calculations performed on the site to be personal information, in addition to the definitions of personal information found in the applicable federal and provincial privacy laws..

Although we cannot take responsibility for any theft, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration or destruction of data by a third party, we take reasonable precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.

ACCESSING AND UPDATING PERSONAL INFORMATION

When you use luxpop.com, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. In any case where we provide information access and correction, we perform this service free of charge, except if doing so would require a disproportionate effort.

Luxpop is in compliance with the applicable federal and provincial privacy laws.

Luxpop may disclose your information as permitted or required to by law; for example:

1.                    to a government institution or other person or entity that has asserted its lawful authority to obtain the information;

2.                    where we have reasonable grounds to believe the information could be useful in the investigation of unlawful activity;

3.                    to comply with a subpoena or warrant or an order made by a court, person or entity with jurisdiction to compel the production of information;

4.                    to comply with court rules regarding the production of records and information; and

5.                    to our legal counsel.

When we receive formal written complaints at this address, it is Luxpop’s policy to contact the complaining user regarding his or her concerns. We will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that cannot be resolved between Luxpop and an individual.

 

COOKIES

Luxpop may use "cookies", a technology that installs a small amount of information on a Luxpop user's computer to permit Luxpop to recognize future visits using that computer. Cookies enhance the convenience and use of Luxpop.

 

Users may opt out of cookies by adjusting the appropriate settings on their browsers.

 

SERVER LOCATION

Luxpop currently processes and stores all its information on servers hosted by Yahoo Small Business; these servers may be in various jurisdictions.
